North Hennepin Community College, or NHCC, was established in 1966 in Minnesota. The school is known as one of the biggest and diverse community colleges in the state. NHCC is also a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, which is the fifth largest system in the United States. The school is found at the intersection between West Broadway and 85th Avenue North in Brooklyn Park.
In the past school year, there were just over 10,500 credit students that attended NHCC. Among them almost 5,000 were full-year equivalent students. That means that around 33% of the students that attend NHCC go to the school full-time while 67% attend part-time. NHCC also features several clubs or organizations for each of their students. The school has an art gallery, students can get involved with award-winning literary and arts magazine entitled Under Construction, or the non-fiction collection of student cultural narratives called the Realities.
The school has institutional accreditation but it also offers the several programs that have received accreditation from national and international organizations. These programs include a Business Program for Business Schools & Programs, Histo-technology Program National for Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Peer Tutor Program College Reading and Learning Association CRLA Member Services, Online Programs The Higher Learning Commission, Paralegal Program American Bar Association Standing Committee on Paralegals, Nursing Program National League of Nursing Accreditation Commission, Medical Laboratory Technician Program National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
The school’s mission is to engage students to change their lives in the process of providing them with education.
